DAY 90: Upside down Mabel

My view from the club chair in our living room. Silly girl.

Tidbits

Let's catch up on my life a little. :)

- Friday was pretty nice because it went by very quickly! I had an eye exam in the morning which didn't take more than a half hour. I had a financials meeting and then a team meeting at work as soon as I got in. Once those were done, about half of us girls got together and went out to eat. Tred and Anne wanted Arby's and so I tagged along and ate curly fries, LOL. Kelli and Newsh didn't want it so they were party poopers and didn't come! After work, I hung out at the casa with the boys. Thursday and Friday it felt like my allergies were kicking my butt so I didn't have motivation to do anything!

- Saturday, Andy and I went grocery shopping and stocked up on lots of fruit and veggies. Meijer had the biggest, juiciest looking strawberries I've seen in a long time so you better believe I brought a few cartons of those home! :) While grocery shopping, I started feeling worse and it was all downhill from there. We finished up, checked out, came home and put everything away. I stayed on the couch after that, except for the times I had to make a mad dash to the bathroom to puke and puke and puke. You know what a really weird feeling is? Not being able to breathe through your nose while puking.

- I felt much, much better on Sunday! I had something super fun at 3PM, which I still can't say anything about... I'll be able to share more in a month or so. :) And, NO, it's not a baby! (Just in case family is reading this, LOL.) After that we met up with everyone from my dad's side at River Rock for an early dinner. Sunday is $1.00 burger night there so pretty much everyone except me got burgers, lol. I got nachos. Meatless, of course! Speaking of no meat: today marks three weeks of vegetarianism!

- Andy starts hockey in a few weeks! One of his friends from work plays in a just-for-fun league and they were looking for a few more players so Andy signed up. He loves to watch hockey just as much as I do, but hasn't really played it so I can't wait to watch, LOL.

- As you can see from my 365 a few days ago, I've decided that I AM going to repaint the dining room. Andy is nonplussed, lol. I've found a great shade of cream (after Andy brought home about 3458745 paint chips) and I'm hoping to start painting next week. I'd say this weekend but I've got a LOT going on!

- We just found out that our new dining set is in the warehouse in southern Michigan and it's just waiting for the okay to get shipped up here. We scheduled pick up for the 16th to give me time to paint the walls, LOL. We paid good money for the set and I don't want it in the dining room while I'm rolling paint because I have a slight tendency to be clumsy (keep in mind that's coming from the girl that dumped salad in her lap during lunch yesterday, hahaha) so I can just imagine me getting paint on it. I'm hoping to snag the buffet eventually. The set is now retired and I'm thinking the display buffet will be going on clearance shortly. ;)

- I've been toying with the idea of a beadboard ceiling in our kitchen. I've read a ton of DIY blog posts about it lately and it seems sooo easy. Now to convince Andy.

- This coming Saturday I'm meeting up with Erin & the rest of the bridal party to pick out bridesmaid dresses! Afterward we're going to grab Ryan so I can take some engagement pictures for them! I have no idea where we'll go, so I should probably get on figuring that out.

Wee Bit

{one} if you won a trip to Disneyland/world, who would you take with you?
Andy + the fam... BOTH sides. :)

{two} when was the last time you listened to a CD?
I have a George Harrison "tribute" mix in my Vue's CD player right now, LOL. I don't listen to the radio, like, EVER when I'm at work or when I'm home or in the car. Most of what I like to listen to isn't played on the radio so I rely on mix CDs often!

{three} what spice/seasoning is your favorite?
Cinnamon. Especially mixed with sugar. MMM.

{four} if you were in a band, what kind of music would you play?
Folk rock. Love me some folk rock. <3

{five} if you could have personally witnessed one historical event, which one would it be?
The signing of the Declaration of Independence! I LOVE that point of our nation's history.

{six} if you could go back to school, what would you study?
I'm planning on going back to school, hopefully within the next year! I'm keeping my major a secret until I'm officially enrolled, though. ;)

{seven} if you could go to one sporting event, all expenses paid, which one would you see?
THE STANLEY CUP FINAL!!! Yay, hockey!

{eight} do you drive an automatic or a manual?
I have no idea how to drive a manual, so my Vue is an automatic. Up until the car Andy currently drives, all of the cars he's had in our 5 and a half years together have been manuals! I secretly think he liked the fact that I couldn't drive his cars, LOL.

{nine} are you comfortable speaking in front of people?
Hmm, can I answer with sometimes? If it's in front of a large group, not really... But if it's a group of people I know/am friends with, yes.

{ten} have you ever experienced an earthquake?
Actually, yes! There was an earthquake in the Illinois/Indiana area last year and the aftershocks were felt in Michigan! I was sitting at my desk at work and everything wobbled a little. I thought I was just dizzy until other people started asking if anyone else felt the shaking, haha.

DAY 89: Goodbye, snow! (Maybe? Finally?)

Right now, my entire yard is a weird mix of half snow / half tired, in need of some love, haven't seen you since November grass. I'm hoping we've seen the last of the snow so that we can get out there and get to work! I want my vegetable garden ASAP! :)

DAY 88: Ding, ding, ding!

So, the frames actually got here yesterday but I just got around to sticking the prints in them. They're the right ones (WOO!) and I was actually still a little worried that the order would be wrong until I opened the box... Every email I had with the company, they'd refer to the two frames I needed as "the frame." Uh, no, buddy. We both should be using plurals. ;)

DAY 87: In and out of focus

The sun and sky were very deceiving. You'd look out the window and swear it had to be in the 50's or 60's outside. Then you'd open the door and be reminded that it's still early spring here in Michigan.

DAY 86: Yeah, I have a small addiction to (re)painting rooms

Andy ran with my mom to Home Depot so that she could pick up some crown molding for her dining room. I asked him to grab "a few" paint cards while he was there and he came back with about 15 of them for me to look at. He set them on the coffee table and said "if you can't find a cream color that you like out of all of these, something is wrong with you." LOL. I've narrowed it down to these to try to pick a cream shade from... 'Cause I've decided my dining room needs to be cream. Can I just say now how much I know it's going to suck to prime and paint over the burnt red currently on my walls?

DAY 85: I didn't leave the couch all day.

The last few days I've been feeling kind of "meh" and I thought it was just my allergies. I was sneezing a lot, my nose was stuffed and my ears felt plugged. I know now that that was the onset of some kind of bug because I spent this afternoon in my bathroom puking up everything I'd eaten. Frank knew I didn't feel good and cuddled on the couch with me all day.

DAY 84: Aww, man!

I let the dogs out and was roaming my yard when I came across this. Apparently the dogs knocked the bottom half off while they were playing the other day and I didn't notice. Now I get to wait until Michigan decides to warm back up before it can get reattached 'cause there's no way the ground is letting go of that baby!

DAY 83: Sunrises on the way to work

Sometimes I reaaally don't like getting in to work at 7:30 in the morning. I guess pretty sunrises make up for it, though. :)

DAY 82: Michigan can suck it.

Sooo... Remember the other day when I was all "OMG, I got to drive home with my windows down!!" ? You'd never believe it was 50 degrees the end of last week by looking outside today. We got dumped on. Stupid Michigan weather.

Here are a couple more pictures from my yard today:

I just... LOL. She jumped when I said her name which is why she's a little out of focus. I wasn't expecting her to do that! But it makes for a funny picture and so you get to laugh at my dog AND shake your head in disappointment at the fading paint on the side of my garage. It's a two-fer, people!

I love when Frank goes outside in the snow because it means he gets a snow beard. <3

Sadie, as seen through my screen door. I like this picture a lot for some reason!

Look at all that stacked snow on the other gate to my backyard! And just think, less than 24 hours ago NONE of that was there! Also, how adorable is the color of my house? Seriously. It doesn't get much better than a cerulean blue bungalow!

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} what was your first job?
I worked in the office of a mom&pop furniture store. It was horrible! I ended up getting a job as a part time file clerk (same place I am now, actually!) and kind of... Just stopped showing up for work at the furniture store. Which is really shitty to do but I absolutely couldn't stand the place!

{two} have you ever seen a stand up comedian?
Yes, a couple. Heywood Banks has been my favorite. :)

{three} when was the last time you played mini golf?
Oh geez. Years ago with Ronnie at Dutch Village.

{four} what was the last picture you took?
One of Sadie sleeping weirdly on the club chair. She's a strange one.

{five} burnt food: yes or no?
Blech, no!

{six} if you have a pocket full of change, what do you do with it?
I never get change because I never carry cash with me! I always, always, always use my debit card... Well, I run it as credit everywhere to get triple rewards points. ;)

{seven} can you touch your tongue to your nose?
Yes. I have an obnoxiously large tongue.

{eight} do you scrapbook?
Nope... Never really been my "thing."

{nine} do you buy lottery tickets?
Andy will buy one every now and again but for the most part, no.

{ten} do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind it?
Definitely behind it! I own like 8 nice dSLR and SLR cameras, that's a dead giveaway. ;)

18 Random Questions

This has been floating around the blog world for a while so I figured I'd do it:

1. Make a list of 5 things that you can see without getting up:
- The TV. It's a 52" and I am on the couch, afterall. ;)
- The dogs. Three are currently on the couch, one on the floor.
- My purse.
- A laundry basket full of clean clothes.
- A couple throw blankets tossed over the end of the couch.

2. How do you style your hair?
Lately I've just been blowdrying it and leaving it as is. Sometimes I'll straighten it and every now and again I'll use a large barrel curling iron for loose waves.

3. What are you wearing now?
My comfiest pair of jeans, thanks Old Navy! A lime green spaghetti strap tank with metal beads across the top and a cream sweater with a lime green, navy, light blue and teal floral print. Both of those are from Old Navy, too... I love that place.

4. What's your occupation?
I am a child/medical/spousal support accountant. And yes, it is sometimes as crazy you think it'd be.

5. What do you hear right now?
Bad Girls Club. ::Shame::

6. Who was the last person you hugged?
My husband!

7. What is/was for dinner?
Salad. I've been making salad a lot lately, I'm guessing because it has felt like spring! That's kind of a big deal in Michigan.

8. What did you do today?
I went to work, came home and have been sitting on my tuckus ever since.

9. Dog person or cat person?
I like both! I like all animals, though. :)

10. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?
Hmm, if I *HAD* to change my name, I think I'd pick ... Honestly, I have no idea! I know what I'd name a future daughter but I can't think of a new name for myself. How weird... Something Irish, that's for sure.

11. What was the last thing that you bought?
Umm, green olives and sharp cheddar cheese, LOL. I wanted to make a salad last night and didn't have those for it. And those are a staple for Kaycee salads. :) If you want a fun answer: a couple cardigans, a few embellished tees and a popover hoodie from Old Navy on Sunday.

12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Truthfully, if I only ever vacationed to Chicago, I'd be happy. I adore it there.

13. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Pretty much where I am now, except with a few babies. :)

14. Where's your birthmark?
On my left cheek.

15. What are you doing this weekend?
Just working around the house. I'm doing something kind of fun, too, but that has to stay a secret for now! :)

16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
Sitar! I love listening to recordings of George Harrison playing it.

17. How tired are you?
Not very, yet. Give me an hour. ;)

18. How many pillows do you sleep with?
Just one!

DAY 81: My husband has thicker hair than I do

This picture isn't from today, but I did stumble across it today! You want to know the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it? "Wow, I really hope our babies get Andy's hair." LOL. I have very fine hair. There's a lot of it, it's just super fine. Andy, on the other hand, has extremely thick hair. A lot of extremely thick hair. Grr.

Oh boy...

You see, friends, I have a problem. Once I get the littlest spark of an idea in my head, I immediately start looking for inspiration. Yesterday I said something along the lines of "if I ever decide to repaint a room, it would probably be my dining room." That quickly turned in to "OMG, I NEED TO REPAINT MY DINING ROOM RIGHT NOW, NOW, NOW!" in Kaycee-land.

I've had an idea for a wall color and accent color combo for a little while now. So, I was all "sup, Google?" And what I found really makes me want to paint my dining room cream:

I especially love this last one. The ivory built-in with creamy, buttery walls? LOVE. Absolutely love. And I know, I know... Cream is a color too. I worry that it may be too neutral for the rest of my house. Y'all know this girl is not afraid of color. I don't want the dining room to feel like I just haven't gotten around to painting it. So, who knows. We'll see. :)

I found this picture while browsing Google, too. Are you kidding me with that wrap around art wall? I almost pooped my pants when I saw it! Just kidding, but still. AMAZING.

I found this, too. I don't know where to buy it or where I'd put it, but I love it and have decided I need one.

DAY 80: Collecting vegetarian recipes

Over the last two weeks, I've been browsing recipes like mad looking for some delicious dishes. I've accumulated probably 30, which may not seem like a lot but remember I'm incredibly picky in almost all aspects of life, people. LOL.

Craftsman Color

I did a lot of research about Craftsman homes shortly after we moved in to our dreamy bungalow in 2007, and the one thing I really noticed is the fearless use of color. If it's found in nature, it's fair game to go on the walls and I LOVE that! I knew I was going to have a lot of fun picking paint colors and decorating. I actually had made a little chart before we even started THINKING about finding a house of what I'd want to paint the rooms... That went out the window once we bought our house. I really wanted to fit my colors and decor to the Arts & Crafts design of our bungalow.

The other day, I was bored at work (shh!) and browsing "Craftsman decor" on Google (shh!!) and came across these drawings. They made me smile because the colors you see in them are the colors that I chose for my house four years ago.

I made a little chart of all of the colors on the main floor of our house. Eventually I'll do another for the basement but the only thing that's painted down there is the half bath and that's a light, buttery yellow color. I kinda-sorta told Andy he could do whatever he wanted to the basement but I have a feeling I'll get bossy and decide paint colors and flooring down there too, LOL. It's just my nature. ;)

Of course, who is to say I won't change my mind on one of these in a few months and decide to change it up? Especially now that I can cut in without having to tape all of the moldings/trim/beadboard off! The only room I could possibly see myself changing the color for (right now, anyway!) is the dining room. I like it but I kind of feel like red dining rooms are everywhere! Do I know what I'd want to paint it? Nope. But we'll see. It'd be easy while it's empty and waiting for the new dining room set, eh? Tempting. ;)

Last Sunday & this Sunday

Sooo... I really haven't gotten around to editing pictures from Grandma Alvie & Aunt Judy's birthday party. I take that back, I have two... LOL. So I figured I'd share those and then a few of my dad's dogs from today since Nick bounces off the walls too much to actually ever get a picture of him. ;)

LAST SUNDAY:

Close up of Grandma Alvie's cake. It was banana nut and SO amazing. I could have eaten the whole thing. I'm not sure where it came from but I wouldn't be surprised if Andy's Aunt Gail made it. She is ridiculously talented when it comes to cooking and baking! Bonus: there was Moose Tracks ice cream... My FAVE!

I'm not sure why Aunt Judy always holds up a finger on each hand when she blows out her candles. But she does it every year, LOL. Her cake was chocolate. Totally had some of that too, lol. I just love Andy's grandma, she is so adorable... And probably the sweetest lady I've ever met (other than my mom!).

THIS SUNDAY:

My dad's dog, Buddy, sleeps with his back paws like this all the time. So cute.

Copper heard the electric carver (my step mom sliced up some home made bread for a whole 15 seconds) and was scarred for the rest of the day. He's such a cute dog, but a wimp. :)

In the front is Ginger and in the back is Copper. Ginger came to lay on Andy and Copper jumped up to lay on Ginger. They're brother and sister and never very far away from each other.

365: 3/20/2011

DAY 79: Cold rain is cold

I spent the afternoon at my dad's with the fam. It was fun just hanging out and relaxing, eating yummy food (especially the homemade Italian dressing my step-mom makes -- it's phenom!). The rain held off for most of the day, but just as we were getting ready to leave, little drops started falling from the sky.

Lazy Sundays = Art Browsing

We've already determined that I'm a huge fan of artwork, especially vintage art... And especially creepy vintage art. It's a little dreary today and my town is having its annual Saint Patrick's Day parade which means my street will be packed to the brim with cars (I live two blocks off of the street it's on) so I'm not going anywhere that I don't have to today!

(Sidenote: I will be going to my dad's later this afternoon for an early dinner. He sent me a text yesterday asking if we wanted to come over and have chili cheese dogs. Guess I forgot to tell him I went vegetarian two weeks ago, haha. And we've also already determined that my dad is the most outdoorsy-outdoorsman ever and so when I texted back and said the guys would love it but I don't eat meat anymore, his response was "...What?" LOL. He then asked if I wanted tofu hotdogs (NO) or a salad (YES). So, early dinner at my dad's is my one destination today!)

So what do I do when I don't have anywhere to go and don't feel like being productive? I browse artwork! I believe I've mentioned before that our living room is 30 feet long. One side has a 13 or 14 foot long built-in and the other, except for an open doorway leading to the hallway, is alllll wall. I knew as soon as we moved in that it would be my gallery wall and I've been collecting art ever since. I've got roughly two dozen pieces and am still hunting. The sizes vary (though I have a lot of 13 x 19!) from 4 x 6 to 24 x 26 but the colors are pretty much in the same families -- pale green, pale red, creams and browns.

I've got the perfect Craftsman pale green on my walls (thanks to Behr!) so I figured I'd show you the "Colorsmart Preview" that started it all. (Yeah, I totally saved it, and added the name of the color just now!):

While none of the prints below are creepy, here are some of my favorites found today that I've decided I absolutely must have in my life:

Okay first of all, it has peacocks on it (which I love!), but look at all of the amazing color!

I really have no idea what this is for, other than it's showing some kind of "togetherness" throughout the world with all of the flags on the skirts of the women, but again with the color! Need.

One of my favorite kind of prints? The kind that depicts places from long ago. Here's a "bath house" in San Francisco! Love the ladies dancing in the water.

Another favorite kind of print? Vintage ads! Edison lightbulbs! Amazing! Love the fact that his little "pony tail" looks like a lit candle wick.

Do I already have three vintage prints of foxes eluding the hunt? Totally. Could I use another? Totally.

I <3 art nouveau. Just sayin'.

I absolutely adore silly prints. Obviously this puppy is ready to sit down with his family and enjoy Thanksgiving. Totally something my dogs would do. They already eat off of a fork. (Shh! Don't tell Andy.)

I have no clue why the frogs and rabbit are carrying another frog in some kind of hollowed out apple. All I know is that this needs to be on my living room wall. PRONTO.

The watermarks should give away the fact that I found all of these on All Posters. There are almost 37,000 vintage prints and it's safe to assume I've browsed them all. And will soon own half. ;)

DAY 78: I swear my dog isn't as depressed as she looks

We rescued Sadie on a whim as soon as we found out the offer we put in for our house was accepted. She's our first pup-pup. She was the runt of the litter (of course, I have a soft spot for runts and underdogs, DUH) and just adorable. While she lives with us, she is, without a doubt, my brother's dog. When he comes up from school on the weekends, she never leaves his side. She even sleeps in the guest room with him. In this picture? She's on his lap. Silly girl.

DAY 77: Vegetables are pretty, too.

I'm really weird in the sense that I find beauty in random things. Even things I've never eaten (I will admit this with much shame), like this adorable eggplant. I just couldn't resist the urge to snap a quick picture with my cell phone! Don't judge!

DAY 76: WRONG! Let's try this again

The black with gold frames that I ordered to match the small prints for my kitchen? Not what got sent to me. I had to take pictures for the frames company to show that I got solid black and so you get my "really annoyed that I have to do this so here's a close up to show you were WRONG!" picture.

DAY 75: Michigan is weird

Three days ago? It was flurrying like mad and the roads were getting nasty. Today? I drove home with the windows down in our 50 degree weather.

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} scruffy or clean shaven?
Definitely scruffy.

{two} what’s your favorite sundae topping?
Mini chocolate chips. Nom nom nom!

{three} do you own slippers?
I have a pair of slipper boots that I’ll wear when my feet get super cold but I’m not really a huge fan of socks, shoes or slippers in general and like to be barefoot as much as possible.

{four} did you ever have a tree house?
Nope. Never really wanted one either.

{five} how you do relieve stress?
I’ve never really been stressed! I’m sure I’ll eat my words when children come into the equation.

{six} what’s your favorite dr. seuss book?
Oh my land, I have no clue. I don’t really remember any of them because I wasn’t really a fan of Dr. Seuss when I was little.

{seven} have you ever taken dance classes?
Nope! My mom gave me the option of dance or a sport when I was 4 and I chose soccer. Played it from 4 to 15. :)

{eight} which do you use more: the thesaurus or the dictionary?
Thesaurus.

{nine} what’s your favorite form of exercise?
NOT exercising.

{ten} what’s the longest you’ve ever waited in line?
I’m not really sure! Probably some ride at Cedar Point or something. Or to get inside of the Joe for a Wings’ game.

I was just lounging in our club chair when Cole decided he wanted to take a nap in my lap. Not unusual. So he laid on his back. Also not unusual for Cole... But pretty unusual for a cat. Weirdo.

DAY 73: Well, I'm sold to reorder

I ordered a few prints from an amazingly talented painter on etsy last week. They were at my door today and look at how ADORABLE her package is!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Tidbit syle:

- We celebrated two birthdays this weekend and first up was Grandma Alvie's. We all got together at Andy's grandma & grandpa's house around 2 on Sunday for cake and ice cream. I seriously adore Andy's grandparents -- both sets. My grandfathers both passed away when I was five, my maternal grandmother passed away when I was seven and my paternal grandmother moved down south shortly thereafter. I've never really grown up with "typical" grandparents and so I absolutely love going to see Andy's. They're kind, funny and tell the best stories. Andy's grandma turned 81 and she also shares her birthday with her younger sister, Judy, so there were two yummy, yummy cakes -- chocolate and banana. I got some really cute pictures of the two of them that I still need to edit, but I think I'll put them up here afterwards. :)

- Later Sunday night we met up with my mom & Mark at Cracker Barrel for her birthday dinner. I thought after all that cake at Andy's grandma's I wouldn't want to get breakfast for dinner, but I did. :) We went back to my mom's after so that she could open her gifts. Mark got her a Kindle (about which I am super jealous since I've wanted one for a while and have just never sprung for it, lol)! We did the same for her that we did for my dad this year -- one practical gift and one fun gift. (For my dad, it was a new electric razor and a giant sling shot that shoots metal ammo that he can plink at the little targets the boys make when we go camping in June & August. I'll let you pick the "fun" one, LOL.) My mom got a Hoover stick vacuum, hahaha. In my defense, she has been saying that she wants one for months now since her house has about 20 stairs from the first floor to the second and she currently lugs a vacuum that weighs more than me up and down them! Her fun gift was a gift card to DSW so she can buy a few pairs of fabulous shoes.

- After much debate, we've decided to put down tile in the kitchen. I'm a little "meh" about covering the hardwood but it's such a high traffic area that it will get absolutely DESTROYED if we don't. Thankfully we don't have to rip it out to lay the tile so eventually I'd like to uncover and refinish it but for now, the tile is definitely the more practical choice (especially with four sets of puppy paws running through it a few times a day to go outside).

- My vegetarianism is still going well! I spent a good chunk of time this weekend browsing recipes and found a bunch that I can't wait to try. I found a recipe for an asparagus sandwich that sounds AMAZING. I'm a huge fan of roasted vegetables (and asparagus in general!), though, so any time I can slather them in olive oil, sprinkle them with salt and pepper and let them get crispy in the oven, I'm in heaven. I also found a recipe for cabbage, potato and tomato soup which, after reading the ingredients, sounds a lot like the famous cabbage soup that my dad makes! It's more of a stew, really, but it is so, so delicious. Other than the beef he puts in his, this recipe seems almost identical though I can't say for sure since my dad is one of those "add as you go and it still ends up delicious" kind of people.

- I got the valances for my dining room on Saturday... Four days earlier than the previous email told me, but 8 days later than their original arrival date. They're pretty so I guess that makes up for it, lol. Now comes the fun part of hanging everything on my giant windows! I wanted to do that yesterday but we were gone from about 1:30 to 9:30 so, yeah... That didn't happen. :)

- I decided yesterday that this week I'll give my back hall a big scrub down so that I can start prepping to re-paint it. It's currently a big mud pit thanks to my puppies coming in and out from the backyard and shaking off / playing back there. Before I decided I wanted my kitchen that butternut squash color, I had already purchased two gallons of light, light blue paint (which was total overkill since one gallon of the squash color covered the walls and left 1/4 of the gallon!) and so I'm just going to use that back there. It has cream moldings, wainscoting and baseboards so it'll go well! Plus I have a lot of decor from when our master bedroom was a dark gold color (I did gold and pale blue in there... Told you I've painted and repainted a lot!) that I can re-use back there to. It'll be nice to get that stuff out of the basement!

- Speaking of paint, this weekend I taught myself how to effectively paint around trim and ceilings without having to tape everything off first. Oh. My. Land. I can't even begin to say how much of a timesaver cutting in is! I have a steady hand while holding paint brushes thanks to taking art classes every year I've ever been in school, lol, and it definitely takes one!

- This week I'm hoping to put glass mosaic tile in the open shelves above our cabinets in the kitchen. You can kind of see them in the pictures from this post... They're above the cabinets on either side of the sink, as close to the ceiling as they could possibly get and I thought they could use a pop of something! I keep adding project after project to our list. Andy is so thrilled. ;)

DAY 72: Happy Birthday, Grandma Alvie & Aunt Judy!

We spent the afternoon in Auburn, celebrating some birthdays. Grandma Alvie & Aunt Judy are singing "Happy Birthday" to each other in this picture. I love, love, LOVE it.
